Siméon Boris Nguéhan
Siméon Boris Nguéhan
is a well-established psychologist with more than 15 years of practice while he serves as Senior Lecturer in Social Psychology and Educational Psychology at the University of Buea in Cameroon, a position he has held since 2011. His multidisciplinary research addresses critical psychosocial challenges within Cameroonian contexts, focusing notably on educational development, advocating for curriculum reforms from early education. He extensively investigates inclusive education and Open Distance Learning, analysing teacher motivation through intrinsic and extrinsic factors alongside professional self-esteem. His research includes study of internally displaced persons and informing psychosocial support frameworks for conflict-affected communities. His exploration of identity encompasses cultural phenomena such as collective identity in Cameroon’s football culture and urban social dynamics. Beyond research, Nguéhan teaches undergraduate and postgraduate with emphasis on methodology and data analysis techniques. As a bilingual English and French academic, he mentors and supervises PhD candidates, reviews for peer-reviewed journals. His career demonstrates steadfast commitment to the advancement of Psychology as a profession, identities, culturally responsive policy, bridging academia with societal impact through advancing resilience in marginalised groups, context-specific higher education curricula, and strengthening Cameroon’s psychosocial support infrastructure.
