Sharmin Sultana

Sharmin Sultana is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). She brings over ten years of academic and professional experience in tourism, hospitality, and sustainable development. She holds a Master of Arts in International Sustainable Tourism Management from Monash University, Australia, awarded under the Prime Minister’s Fellowship program. Her research explored international student travel behavior post-COVID-19, reflecting her interest in post-crisis tourism recovery and sustainable travel trends. Sharmin also holds an MBA and BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Dhaka. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, including in Scopus-indexed publications, and contributed to several international conferences in Australia and Asia. She is the co-author of Breaking the Gender Barrier: Success Stories of Women in the Hospitality Industry in Bangladesh. Her research focuses on sustainable tourism, green event management, tourism marketing, service innovation, and inclusive destination development. Beyond research, she has actively engaged in curriculum design, student mentorship, and academic-industry collaboration in previous roles at Daffodil International University and Southern University Bangladesh. Sharmin is a member of the Monash Sustainable Tourism Association and maintains a digital research presence through platforms such as Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and ORCID.
