Saurav Datta
Dr.
Saurav Datta
is presently working as Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (Odisha). After receiving B.E. (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2003, he was awarded Ph.D. (Engineering) by Jadavpur University in December 2008. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering of NIT Rourkela in August 2008. His domain of research includes Manufacturing, Quality Optimization, Statistical Modeling/ Optimization of manufacturing Processes, Industrial Decision Making, Traditional and Non-traditional machining, and Metal Additive Manufacturing. He is Life Associate Member of Indian Institute of Welding. He has published more than 200 articles in International Journals, National Journals of repute, and proceedings of different International and National level Conferences. To date, he mentored 44 M. Tech. projects and supervised a total number of 10 PhDs with the capacity of Sole/ Principal Supervisor. He executed two sponsored projects funded by SERB and CSIR, with capacity of Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, respectively. He is currently executing 02 more sponsored projects on Metal Additive Manufacturing funded by the Science and Technology Department, Govt. of Odisha and CSIR, respectively. Recently, his name has been included within the Top 2% of the most Influential Scientists – 2023, by the Stanford University list.
