Sarah Hussain
Sarah Hussain
is a Professor (of Hospitality) at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University) New Delhi. Previously she has served as the Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Jamia Millia Islamia. She has also served as the Principal of Banrsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management, New Delhi. She has more than 25 years of stellar experience in Industry and Academia including Taj Group of Hotels, Times of India, Times Warner Group, Berggruen Education, BCIHMCT and Jamia Millia Islamia. An alumnus of prestigious Mayo College Girls School - Ajmer and Institute of Hotel Management – Aurangabad (1998 batch), she holds a Master's Degree in Hotel Management and a Ph.D. degree in Hospitality. Prof. Sarah has been imparting Hospitality Education since 2008. Prof. Sarah is also member of Board of Studies of various Universities in India (State and Central). Beyond her contribution as an educator, she is also an accomplished researcher, published in academic journals, books and hospitality industry publications. She has served as the editor of Indian Journal of Applied Hospitality and Tourism Research. She is an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Services Research and Transdisciplinary International Journal of Academic Research. She teaches Research Methodology to PhD scholars and has taught various courses in Hotel Management programmes including Revenue Management, Front Office Operations and Management, Events Management, Hospitality Sales and Marketing, Housekeeping Operations, and Business Communication. Her research interests include Guest Satisfaction, Service Quality, Expectation and Perception of Guests, Environment Management, and Women Guests/ Travelers. She is a Life Member of India Hospitality Congress and also Advisory Member of Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WICCI) Hospitality & Tourism Council NCR.
