Ramya Krishnappa
Ramya Krishnappa
is a distinguished legal academic and Assistant Professor of Law at School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, known for her contributions to constitutional scholarship and grassroots governance studies. An enrolled member of the Karnataka State Bar Council, she completed her B.A. LL.B. from B.M.S. College of Law, Bengaluru, and pursued her LL.M. in Constitutional and Administrative Law at KLE’s Law College, Bengaluru, where she was awarded the Gold Medal in recognition of her academic excellence and scholarly promise. She earned her Ph.D. in Law from Christ University, Bengaluru, with a doctoral thesis titled “A Study on the Legal Framework and Working of Panchayat Institutions with Special Reference to Mandya District,” reflecting her sustained engagement with decentralization, participatory democracy, and the constitutional evolution of local self-governance in India. With over eleven years of combined experience spanning teaching, research, and legal practice, Dr. Krishnappa has emerged as a committed educator and scholar who champions interactive pedagogy, critical inquiry, and experiential learning. Her academic work is anchored in a deep commitment to public law, institutional development, and community-oriented legal reform. She is particularly passionate about mentoring emerging legal professionals, fostering rigorous research cultures, and contributing meaningfully to the intersection of legal academia and practice.
