Pankaj Tyagi
is a academician, accomplished researcher, and experienced consultant, presently serving as Professor at Chandigarh University, Mohali, India. He is an alumnus of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (a Central University) and Kurukshetra University. He holds a Master’s degree in Tourism and Management, an M.Phil. in Tourism, and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Tourism, reflecting a strong and sustained commitment to academic excellence in the field. With over 22 years of professional experience, Dr. Tyagi has made significant contributions across the domains of industry engagement, higher education, professional training, and consultancy. His areas of specialization include destination management, travel processes, sustainable and regenerative tourism, and emerging disruptive technologies. He has consistently focused on advancing innovative and responsible approaches to tourism development, aligned with global priorities in sustainability and digital transformation. Dr. Tyagi has an extensive record of scholarly publication. He has authored or edited 30 academic books and published more than 100 research papers in reputed international journals spanning the fields of tourism, management, technology, and sustainability. His work is recognized for its academic rigour, practical relevance, and interdisciplinary perspective. In addition to his academic writing, Dr. Tyagi serves as a reviewer for several esteemed international journals. Through this role, he actively contributes to maintaining and enhancing scholarly standards across his fields of expertise. His ongoing academic, research, and consultancy efforts continue to shape the discourse around sustainable tourism practices and the integration of advanced technologies in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
