Nurlina Subair
Nurlina Subair
, M.Si., is a Professor of Sociology at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar (Unismuh) and a breast cancer survivor. She began her career as a lecturer in 1989 and earned her Doctorate in Sociology from Universitas Negeri Makassar in 2012. In addition to her academic achievements, including publishing books and scholarly articles on social and gender issues, Prof. Nurlina has been the Chairperson of the Makassar Cancer Care Community (MCCC) since 2013. Her experience as a cancer survivor has inspired her to support cancer patients and raise public awareness about cancer prevention. In 2023, she was inaugurated as a Professor and, in her inaugural speech, highlighted the issue of poverty among female heads of households. Her journey of perseverance and dedication serves as an inspiration in the academic and social fields.
