Necati Engec

Dr. Necati Engec is a professor at South Carolina State University in the Department of Educational Leadership. He has a Ph.D. in Educational Research Methodology from the Department of Educational Leadership, Research, and Counseling (with a minor in Applied Statistics from the Department of Experimental Statistics) at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He teaches statistics, research methodology, and assessment courses; develops research projects in Education; presents research findings at professional meetings and in refereed publications; works with graduate assistants and professional colleagues in implementing research projects; serves on doctoral dissertation committees; and assists in recruitment of graduate students. He has been teaching different courses in the department such as EAM 849, EAR 710, EAR 803, EAR 804, EAM 722; chaired dissertations; served as research committee member in many dissertations; has articles published in peer reviewed journals; has presentations. He is a member of Graduate Study Council at SCSU. He is reviewer of the Organizing Committee of The 7th International Conference on Education and Information Systems, Technologies and Applications: EISTA, reviewer of the Louisiana Board of Regents’ Research Competitiveness Subprogram, an EPSCOR-style grants program to stimulate competitive research. He worked as a program evaluator in a research project funded by 1890 Research Center.He worked as a CO-PI in a research project funded by 1890 Research Center. He worked as PI in a research project funded by 1890 Research Center. He has member of American Educational Research Association (AERA), Mid-South Educational Research Association MSERA), Southwest Educational Research Association (SERA), American Psychological Association (APA), South Carolina Association of School Administrations (SCASA) He served a school board member of a private school in SC. He served statewide initiative promoting customer service in Red Carpet School as judge. His publications include “Person-Fit and the Rasch Model: How Seriously Model Fit Is Affected by Appropriateness Measurements in the Rasch Model,” “Reliability and Validity of Tests for Turkish Teacher Candidates,” and “Logistic Regression and Item Response Theory: Estimating of Item and Ability Parameters for Polytomous Nominal Data Using Logistic Regression in IRT.”
