Mihai Viorel Putz (MVP) is a Romanian university professor and researcher known for his significant contributions to quantum chemistry, physical chemistry, and computational sciences. Born in Timișoara, Romania, in 1975, he holds advanced degrees in physics and chemistry, including a PhD in chemistry from West University of Timișoara. Over his career, Putz has focused on interdisciplinary research, blending quantum theory with chemical bonding, nano-structures, and biological systems.
He is currently a full professor and director of the Doctoral School of Chemistry at West University of Timișoara, where he leads research in quantum chemistry, nano-functionalization, and chemical modeling. Putz is renowned for developing the "bondonic quasi-particle" theory and his work on quantum dots, graphene, and sustainable energy applications. Prof. Putz has authored numerous publications in prestigious international journals and is involved in interdisciplinary research that merges quantum theory with chemical reactivity and bio-nano-materials. He has been recognized for his innovative approaches to understanding electronegativity, enzyme kinetics, and structure-activity relationships (SAR).
He has received numerous accolades, including being named the Best Researcher of Romania in 2010, and is a member of several prestigious international scientific societies including the International Academy of Mathematical Chemistry and the American Chemical Society.
