Mihai Nadin
Mihai Nadin’s career combines science, art, technology, the humanities. He was often described as a Renaissance personality. Nadin holds advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a post-doctoral degree in Philosophy, Logic and the Theory of Science. Nadin believes in applying knowledge for future contexts rather than glorifying past achievements for their own sake. Through his research, spanning from engineering, to mathematics, digital technology, philosophy, semiotics, theory of mind, and, most recently, anticipatory systems, he asserted an integrated understanding of the world. His publications number into hundreds of articles and over 20 books; he also authored novels, poems, plays. In 2004, Nadin accepted an endowed chair at The University of Texas at Dallas, where he heads the antÉ Institute for Research in Anticipatory Systems.
