Mamokete Venolia Setshego
is a dedicated researcher and academic specialising in indigenous knowledge systems. Currently she is pursuing her Doctoral degree in Indigenous Knowledge Systems in North West University (South Africa). She earned her Master’s degree in Indigenous Knowledge Systems at North-West University (South Africa) and has contributed significantly to understanding the role of natural resources in traditional cosmeceuticals. Her research highlights the use of plant-based remedies for skin conditions and their cultural significance within rural communities, particularly in South Africa’s Vhembe district. Setshego’s work emphasises the preservation of ethnobotanical knowledge, exploring sustainable and biodegradable alternatives to synthetic skincare. By integrating both qualitative and quantitative methods, her research bridges scientific inquiry and traditional practices to address global challenges in food security, nutrition, and natural product development.
