M. Sujithra
, M.C.A, M. Phil, Ph.D., is a distinguished academician and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing - Data Science at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. With a career spanning 18 years, Dr. Sujithra has established herself as a prominent figure in the field of Data Science, Machine Learning, Information Security, Cloud Computing, and Network Security. She embarked on her academic journey by earning her bachelor's degree in Computer Science with Distinction in the year 2000. Following this, she achieved excellence by securing a University Rank in Master of Computer Applications in 2003. Driven by a passion for knowledge, she further pursued her M. Phil. in Computer Science from Bharathiyar University in 2010. In 2017, Dr. M. Sujithra earned her Ph.D. from Avinashilingam University, specializing in Mobile Device and Cloud Data Security. Her doctoral research, titled “A Comprehensive Approach to Mobile Device and Data Security using Iris Authentication, Malware Detection, Secured Cloud Storage and Retrieval,” reflects her commitment to advancing the field. Dr. Sujithra's commitment to education extends beyond the classroom. Dr. Sujithra is actively involved in research and mentoring. As a mentor, she has contributed to the Samsung Prism Project and served as an evaluator and mentor for Smart India Hackathon 2022, contributing to NPTEL SWAYAM Course on Cyber Security, and engaging with L&T EdTech as a reviewer for in-house training programs. Her role as a Conference Chair, Session Chair, Scientific Committee member, and Technical Program Committee member in numerous international conferences demonstrates her leadership in the academic community. She has published three books in the areas of machine learning, network security, mobile malware detection, and cloud security. Additionally, she actively participates in academic initiatives, serving as a resource person for topics such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. She has published numerous Scopus indexed papers on cloud computing and data security in both national and international journals and conferences. Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Sujithra actively engages in various academic and administrative roles. She serves as a member of the Academic Council in various institutions, a panel member for project evaluation for UG/PG programs, and a reviewer and editorial board member for reputable journals. She also contributes to the development of academic programs as a member of the Board of Studies for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programmes. Dr. Sujithra has received several accolades, including the “Best Paper Award” for her work on Malware Detection Mechanism Using Machine Learning Algorithms from Madras Institute of Technology Anna University in 2018. She holds University Rank in her Master of Computer Applications Degree and has been recognized for achieving outstanding Academic Performance Indicators at Coimbatore Institute of Technology. As a dedicated educator, she shoulders a variety of teaching responsibilities, covering subjects such as Machine Learning, Data Visualization, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, Operating System, Computer Networks, Software Engineering, and Mobile Application Development. Dr. M. Sujithra's passion for advancing knowledge, coupled with her dedication to education, makes her a respected figure in the academic community. Her multifaceted contributions continue to leave a lasting impact on the field of Data Science.
