Dr.
Laura E. Mendoza
is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Chicano Studies, Languages, and Linguistics at the University of Texas at El Paso. She holds a Ph.D. in Literacy and Biliteracy, and her research and teaching focus on inclusive pedagogies that foster belonging and success for emergent bilinguals and transnational students. With over a decade of experience as a language educator, Dr. Mendoza integrates culturally responsive teaching, open educational resources, and innovative practices—such as learning communities and gamification—into her classroom and scholarship.
