Kristina Marie Tom
Kristina Marie Tom
is a senior lecturer at Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Language and Communication Centre, where she coordinates leadership communication training for NTU's Student Leadership Development Programme. She holds a BA and MA in English from Stanford University and has a passion for teaching public speaking and writing. A former book critic and journalist for The Straits Times, Kristina is an award-winning writer of poetry, fiction, and literary criticism. She is the recipient of several grants, including an NAC Creation Grant for her novel Turtle Mountain, an EdeX Grant for her research on student-faculty partnership in curriculum design, and an MOE AcRF Tier 1 grant exploring the linguistic landscapes of Singapore's Chinatown. Her research interests include student-faculty partnerships in curriculum design, creative writing, literary criticism, and the linguistic landscapes of multicultural urban spaces.
