Kirti Varandani

Kirti Varandani
is a visionary architect and academician based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, whose work reflects a deep commitment to sustainable design and innovative urban development. With over eight years of combined experience in architecture, interior design, and academia, she has established herself as a thoughtful designer and educator dedicated to creating spaces that blend functionality, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility. Kirti completed her Master of Design (M.Des.) in Sustainable Design from Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur (2019–2021), where she specialized in sustainable architectural practices and green building concepts. She also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Urban Planning and Development from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) from Jagannath University, Jaipur (2009–2014). Her academic foundation has been enriched through various professional training programs, workshops, and certifications focused on sustainable architecture, daylight optimization, and green building standards. Currently, Kirti serves as an Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty) at the Faculty of Design, Banasthali Vidyapith, where she teaches design subjects in the Interior Design Department. Previously, she held faculty positions at Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur, and the Apex Group of Institutions, Jaipur, where she taught architecture and interior design. Her teaching philosophy centers on encouraging students to approach design as a social, cultural, and ecological process—aimed at improving human well-being and environmental health. Before entering academia, Kirti gained substantial professional experience in architectural practice. She worked as an Architect with SNG Group, Jaipur, where she was responsible for preparing architectural and landscape drawings, designing internal services, and overseeing large residential projects such as Samriddhi, Krishnangan, Shree Enclave, Shivangan, and Dusad Garden. She also worked as a Trainee Architect at Sanidhya Design Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., Jaipur, collaborating on residential and commercial projects for prominent developers such as Dhanuka Group, Anukampa Group, and Pink City Consortium. Her earlier professional experiences at Design Core Consultancy and Khilnani Associates helped her refine her technical proficiency and design sensibility. Kirti’s portfolio includes a wide range of architectural and interior projects—residences, educational institutions, offices, and hospitality spaces. Some notable works include the Residence cum Hospital at Jaipur, Boys’ Hostel at MPUAT Bhilwara, Dev Group of Colleges at Jaipur, and Landscape proposals for farmhouses and resorts across Rajasthan. Her commitment to sustainable architecture is evident in her research publications, including papers in the EPRA Journal (2021) on Optimization of Daylight in Museums and Art Galleries and Impact of Green Roofs on Heating and Cooling in Different Climatic Zones of India. An active learner and researcher, Kirti has participated in numerous professional development programs, including workshops on Griha Rating and Certification, Affordable Housing, and Daylighting Simulation by ECBC. She was also recognized with the Built Today Architectural Journalism Award (2010) for her contribution to architectural writing. Beyond her professional achievements, Kirti finds inspiration in teaching, continuous learning, and sustainable innovation. Her vision is to contribute to the development of eco-conscious design education and to inspire the next generation of architects to create spaces that harmonize human needs with environmental balance.
