Kadir Cicek
Kadir Cicek
is an Associate Professor in the Marine Engineering Department at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and a Co-Founder of Blueanalytica Maritime R&D and Information Technologies Inc. He obtained his BSc degree in Marine Engineering from ITU in 2003, followed by an MSc in Maritime Transportation Engineering in 2008 and a PhD in Industrial Engineering in 2013, both from ITU. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research at the Liverpool Logistics Offshore and Marine Research Institute (LOOM) of Liverpool John Moores University, focusing on risk-based decision making in operational fleet management for a period of six months. His research interests include predicting future skill sets required by digitalisation in the maritime industry and developing marine engineering program curricula accordingly.
