Ioannis Michael Starakis
Ioannis Starakis
has been working since 2018 as Laboratory Teaching Staff in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing in “Science Education.” He holds a degree from the Department of Primary Education of the same university (1999). In this department, he also completed both his postgraduate studies in “Science Education” (2002) and his doctoral dissertation titled: “New Technologies in Education: the design, implementation, and evaluation of a teaching sequence for phenomena related to the relative motions of the Sun–Earth–Moon system in primary education” (2014). He worked as a primary school teacher in public education (2002–2018), while from 1999 to 2017 he collaborated systematically with the Department of Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as an instructor, teaching practicum supervisor, and organizer/facilitator of laboratory sessions within the course “Science Education.” He has participated in research projects and has published articles in international journals as well as in the proceedings of international and Greek conferences. His research interests concern issues of didactic transposition, the design of teaching–learning sequences, teacher education, and embodied learning.
