Hassan Refaat Hassan Badawy
Hassan Badawy
has more than twenty years of industry and academic experience in the field of tourism and Cultural Heritage Management, he held several positions in different professional, and academic entities including the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, the British University in Egypt (BUE), The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Luxor University in Egypt, and several internationally funded tourism development projects. Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in tourism guidance, then got a master's and PhD degrees in tourism, and then he got a Master's degree in cultural heritage management from Sorbonne University where he specialized in cultural tourism marketing. As an acknowledgement of my contribution and effort in academia and community development, he was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship in 2022 in tourism and Heritage studies. He also won different scholarships from different international organizations where he attended several tourism training programs. Invited as a keynote speaker at several international scientific Conferences and Seminars centred around different topics especially sustainable development, cultural heritage management, Entrepreneurship, and heritage Tourism Marketing. Worked as a consultant and trainer for several international development projects funded by international organizations including USAID, UNDP, and UNWFP where he was responsible for developing several work plans to enhance employability in the tourism sector, he was also responsible for identifying training needs, developing training materials, and the delivery of the training. Supervised and evaluated several scientific research in areas and topics related to tourism marketing and sustainable development. Active in community services such as working as a voluntary Start-ups Mentor with German development cooperation (GIZ), he also delivered different training programs on women's empowerment.
