Gloria Alarcon-Garcia
Gloria Garcia
, PhD in Law and Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Murcia (since 1996). She holds a Master’s in Equality and Gender in the Private and Public Spheres (2007-2008) and leads the research group “Tax Observatory: Public Policy Analysis” and the “Network on Public Policies and Gender.” Her teaching and research focus on fiscal awareness, tax compliance and gender, taxation and gender equality, gender budgeting, and gender well-being through the Capability Approach. She has published extensively on these topics and worked on national and international projects analyzing public budgets with a gender perspective. Dr. Alarcón has collaborated with Professor Klaus Tipke on tax fraud and supported governments in enhancing fiscal awareness and reducing tax fraud. She is a member of the European Gender Budgeting Network, the International Network on Leave Policies and Research, and the Scientific Committee of The Shadow Economy, Tax Evasion and Public Finances (2020-2023)
