Gilbert Likando
Gilbert Likando
holds a PhD in Adult Education andLifelong Learning. He is currently an Associate Professor, in the Faculty of Education and Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor since 2021, to date. He has previously served as Head of Department (HOD) Department of Educational Foundations and Management (2008 to 2010); Deputy Research Coordinator/ Deputy Director, Research and Publications Office (RPO) (2010 - 2011); Director of the University of Namibia (UNAM) Rundu Campus (2012 - 2015); and Assistant Pro-Vice Chancellor (APVC), University of Namibia, Rundu Campus (2016 to 2021), He has extensive experience in teaching, research, consultancy, and community service at University, National & international levels. He further possesses immense experience in management and leadership of higher education institutions. He was awarded the University of Namibia Meritorious Sabbatical Award during the 2017, for his outstanding leadership in the management of higher education. Gilbert Likando has extensively published (book chapters, journal articles and served as book editor) in the areas of teacher education, higher education, adult education and lifelong learning, and educational leadership and management.
