Ervin Tampus Echague
Ervin T. Echague
is a Senior Education Program Specialist at the Bureau of Curriculum Development, Department of Education (DepEd) Central Office, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping national educational policies and curriculum frameworks. Prior to his tenure at DepEd, he served as an Assistant Professorial Lecturer III at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in Manila, where he contributed to the advancement of physical education and movement sciences. Mr. Echague earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from PUP Manila and a Master of Science in Human Movement Science from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction at the Philippine Normal University, further strengthening his expertise in educational program development and pedagogical innovation. In addition to his academic and professional engagements, Mr. Echague is a licensed and accredited Dancesport National Adjudicator under the Philippine Dancesport Academy – Philippine DanceSport Federation Inc. He is a former member of the PUP Dancesport Team and has served as a sports manual writer, validator, folk dance trainer, and dancesport coach. His extensive experience in dance and sports education has significantly contributed to the promotion and development of physical education in the country. His research interests encompass recreation, comparative physical education and activities, travel, and leisure. Through his scholarly work and advocacy, Mr. Echague remains committed to advancing the fields of physical education, curriculum development, and movement sciences in both academic and practical settings.
