Duygu Dumanlı Kürkçü
Duygu Dumanlı Kürkçü
was born in 1985 in Istanbul. She graduated from the Department of Communication Arts at the Faculty of Art and Design, Istanbul Kültür University, in 2009. In the same year, she started working as a research assistant in the same department. She completed her master’s degree in 2011 at Marmara University, Institute of Social Sciences, in the Department of Public Relations. In 2015, she earned her Ph.D. in Journalism from the Institute of Social Sciences at Istanbul University. She began her academic career at Istanbul Arel University in 2014 as a lecturer. Between 2015 and 2021, she served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication, Istanbul Arel University. In February 2021, she was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Journalism and Media Studies by the decision of the Interuniversity Board (ÜAK). She currently works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication, Istanbul Arel University, and has been serving as the Head of the Journalism Department since 2021. She is the author of the books “New Media and Youth” and “Hashtag in Communication Studies”, and the editor of “Communication Studies on New Media” and “Journalism Studies on New Media”. Her academic research interests include new media, online journalism, social media, and artificial intelligence, through which she continues to produce publications and projects.
