Dr.
Dionysios Giannakopoulos
is a Senior Researcher at the National Centre for Research and Technology Hellas - Chemical Process & Energy Resources Institute (CERTH-CPERI), Quality Director for hot water boilers CE mark (Notified Body CE 0617) of the Steam Boilers and Thermal Plants Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), as well as member of TÜV Hellas as Leader CO2 verifier for Emission Trading System reports verification, ISO 14001 Auditor and Carbon footprint auditor for airports (2011-20) (Airport Carbon Accreditation Scheme). His activities are focused on the solid fuel utilisation, pollutants formation and abatement techniques, power production and efficiency improvement, clean technologies for advanced utilization of solid fuels, strategies and measures for CO2 emissions reduction and utilization of Renewable Energy Sources, Environmental Management Systems and Audits, Combined Heat and Power production and energy conservation, strategies and measures for H2 technologies and energy markets analysis. He participates in projects sponsored by national authorities and organizations, the European Commission as well the industrial sector.
