Dhemy Brito

Dhemy de Brito is a researcher and Assistant Professor on sociology of childhood and music education of childhood at the University of Minho. Dhemy holds a PhD in Child Studies (specialization in Childhood, Culture and Society) from the University of Minho, with the support of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) and a Master in Music from the State University of Santa Catarina, Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina - UDESC, with the support onf the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). He is a member of the Research Centre on Child Studies (CIEC) and of mei – the research group on music, education and childhood, affiliated with PPGMUS/UDESC. In 2020, he published the book “O Coro Infantil e as Crianças: por quê e para quem elas cantam,” with Paco Editorial.
