Constantinos Mourlas
Constantinos Mourlas
is Professor at Department of Communication and Media Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece) since 2002. His research interests have been focused mainly on the study of intelligent systems and more specifically on adaptive and personalized communication environments. This field is generally broad and covers a wide range of applications that have similar behaviors and attributes, like Adaptive hypermedia, Web personalization, and Intelligent and User-Centric Interfaces. His current research activities are focused on the retrieval, processing and visualization of information and pattern recognition, hidden in a very large amount of data (big data analysis), which are sometimes structured, semi-structured or unstructured. Programming languages such as Python and R, AI algorithms for classification, mining and pattern recognition as well as NLP techniques for Topic Modeling, Text Classification, retrieval of emotionally loaded texts or even fake-news, are studiedin user generated content. Dr. Mourlas is Director of the Digital Media Lab, Dept. of Communication and Media Studies.
