Brahim Boutaleb
Dr.
Brahim Boutaleb
is an Algerian researcher at M’Hamed Bougara University of Boumerdes, specializing in marketing and consumer behavior. His research mainly explores the psychological and social factors that influence consumer purchasing decisions, with a strong focus on the smartphone market, impulsive buying behavior, and materialism among Arab consumers. In his 2024 study published in Business Ethics and Leadership, titled “Factors Influencing Smart Phone Buying Behavior of Consumers: Implications for Building a Marketing Strategy,” he identified personal factors (such as motivation, perception, and preferences) as the strongest predictors of smartphone purchase decisions, compared to external influences or gender differences. Another major study, “Determinants of Consumers’ Adoption of Latest Version Smartphones: An Empirical Study of Saudi Consumers” (2024, Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research), analyzed the drivers behind consumers’ willingness to upgrade to newer smartphone models, emphasizing the role of perceived value, innovation, and brand trust. Additionally, his paper “Effect of Materialism on Impulsive Buying Behavior: An Empirical Study of Arab Consumers” (2022, SMART Journal of Business Management Studies) investigated how materialistic values impact unplanned purchasing behavior among Arab consumers, revealing that materialism positively affects impulsive buying but interacts with other motivational factors.
