Bahar Baran
Bahar Baran
works on educational technology and open and distance learning in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology at Dokuz Eylul University, a large university in Turkey. She is also the director of the Distance Education Application and Research Centre. In the centre, she plays a key role in managing activities such as determining the distance education needs of other units in the university, developing the university's distance education vision with contemporary educational opportunities, improving the digital literacy of faculty members, and research and development studies related to distance education. She has also held other positions in her university such as member of the Quality Assurance Committee, member of the Ethics Committee and member of the Internationalisation Committee. She has been a manager or researcher in more than 30 national and international projects. She has evaluated many projects offered by national institutions and organisations. She has published many articles indexed in SCI/SSCI/ERIC/SCOPUS. The main focus of her research is the design of educational multimedia, educational video and learning spaces for educational environments. She works in an interdisciplinary way and has extensive experience in the development of different types of educational materials such as video, text, graphics, augmented/virtual reality for mathematics, health, social studies and science disciplines.
