Babatunde Adeniyi Adeyemi
hails from Iragbiji in Boripe Local Government of Osun State, Nigeria. He is a Professor in the Institute of Education, Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. He served as the Director, Institute of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University between 2016 and 2018. His areas of specialization are Social Studies, Curriculum Studies and Educational Evaluation. He is a prolific writer and has attended various conferences, workshops and seminars within and outside the country where he presented scholarly papers. He has published several of his research findings in Local, National, and International peer-reviewed Journals. He has supervised several undergraduate as well as postgraduate students which include 40 Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), 15 Master of Education (M.Ed.), 32 Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.), 5 Master of Philosophy in Education (M. Phil) and 14 Doctor of Philosophy in Education (PhD). He is an external examiner and assessor to several Universities within and outside Nigeria. He is currently the Managing Editor of Ife Journal of Theory and Research in Education; one of the Editors of Ife Journals of the Humanities and Social Studies (IJOHUSS). He served as a member (and leader) of Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation team to some Universities. He has served as a resource person, facilitator and consultant to National Teacher Institute (NTI), Kaduna; Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja; National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE), Kaduna and several others. He presented the 366th Inaugural Lecture titled:” That I May Learn a Multidisciplinary Approach Discipline-Social Studies: Jack of All Trade, Master of All” at Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria on Tuesday 8th November,2022. He is a member of highly recognized professional bodies such as Social Studies Association of Nigeria (SOSAN), National Association of Educational Researchers and Evaluators (NAERE), History of Education Society of Nigeria. (HESN), African Sociological Association (AfSA), Reading Association of Nigeria (RAN), Global Education Network (GEN), Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management (CIPDM), Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa (EARNiA), Association of Behavioural Research Analysts and Psychometrician (AB-REAP) as well as Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). He is a Fellow of the Scholars Academic and Scientific Society (FSASS); a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMD); a Fellow of Chartered Management Consultant (CMC); a Fellow of National Association of Pastoral Counsellors (FNAP); a Charter Member of National Association of Artificial Intelligence Practitioners (NAAIP). He is the Chairman of the Faculty of Education Accreditation Committee and Chairman, Faculty of Education Quality Assurance Committee. He is currently representing the University Senate on the floor of the Business Committee of Senate of the University. He is a member of the Nigerian Academy of Education (NAE). He is currently the Deputy Director, Centre for Distance Learning of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is happily married and blessed with children.
