Aylin Akinlar
Aylin (Yavas) Akinlar
, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in Türkiye. She has worked at Cornell University as a Fulbright Scholar, Yildiz Technical University, and Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University (currently). She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on multicultural education, as well as a strong background in curriculum development, equity-minded pedagogy, and instructional design, as well as a passion for improving teaching and learning experiences in higher education gained over 20 years of experience. Her specialized knowledge or areas of interest include curriculum and instruction, multicultural education, international and comparative education, internationalization of higher education, gender equity, teacher careers and development, and qualitative research. Aylin (Yavas) Akinlar, Ph.D. has received many worldwide distinctions, prizes, and awards. She has given international papers and lectures in the United States, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Norway, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, among other places. She is fluent in Turkish and English. She has a basic knowledge of German, Spanish, and Arabic.
