Avril Little
Avril Little
is a Ph.D. student in the Human Development program at the Warner Graduate School of the University of Rochester. Her research interests center on urban youth, resistance, and identity development. Avril holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Rochester and a master’s in social work from Roberts Wesleyan University. She is the recipient of the Scandling Scholars Fellowship and is a member of the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society. Avril is a licensed master social worker in New York State with over 15 years of experience providing mental health support to youth and families. She serves as a residence counselor through the University Counseling Center, focusing on equity for students of color who interface with law enforcement on campus. Avril is also a research assistant on a local Public Health AmeriCorps project, working to foster access within communities experiencing health disparities.
