Apoorva Roy
is a distinguished academician in the field of law, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Galgotias University, Greater Noida. With a commendable academic trajectory and over seven years of rich teaching and administrative experience, Dr. Roy has established a respected presence in the legal education sector. Prior to joining Galgotias University, Dr. Roy held a faculty position at Amity University, Noida, from February 2018 to June 2024. A committed educator and researcher, Dr. Apoorva Roy specializes in International Environmental Law, Biodiversity Protection, Intellectual Property Rights, Administrative Law, and Client Counselling. In addition to teaching. Dr. Roy earned a Ph.D. in Law from the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi in 2023. This is complemented by an LL.M from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur and an LL.B (Hons.) from the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Apoorva Roy is also qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Law and cleared the All India Bar Examination. A prolific researcher and writer, Dr. Apoorva Roy has authored more than 30 research papers, book chapters, and articles on a range of contemporary legal topics. Notable among these are papers on green collar crimes, traditional knowledge protection, and the performance of the National Green Tribunal (NGT). Furthermore, Dr. Roy has co-authored two books published internationally: The Wildlife Conservation and Management in India and Indian Agricultural Sector in the Light of WTO Laws: A Critical Study. Dr. Apoorva Roy has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and faculty development programs, often as a paper presenter or judge. The recent focus of Dr. Roy’s research includes climate change, transboundary environmental issues, and legal implications of emerging technologies such as AI in policing. Driven by a passion for teaching, knowledge creation, and holistic education, Dr. Roy aspires to inspire students to become globally competent, socially responsible, and ethically grounded professionals. With a perfect blend of academic rigor and practical engagement, Dr. Roy continues to contribute meaningfully to the ever-evolving field of legal education and policy.
