Alonzo M. Flowers
Alonzo M. Flowers III
is a Professor and Department Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Flowers joins the ELPS department after serving as the inaugural Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice in the Graduate College at Drexel University. His research also focuses on issues of diversity and justice in education and faculty development, college teaching and learning, college student development, and qualitative research. Dr. Flowers was also the 2022 recipient of the School of Education at Drexel University Teaching Excellence Award for Tenured Faculty. Dr. Flowers have 26 academic publications, 3 published books, and 16 book chapters. For instance, Dr Flowers edited book with Hopkins Press that explores Black Scholarship in a White Academy: Perseverance in the Face of Injustice.
