Alfred Mapolisa
Alfred Mapolisa
is a Climate Change Scientist specializing in impacts of climate change mitigation and resilience on vulnerable communities in the Global South. He also has passion for Indigenous Knowledge Systems and their applications. Born in rural Birchenough Bridge, in 1982, his early life instilled in him a deep love for the natural world and Indigenous knowledge Systems. This passion led him to pursue a degree in Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Zimbabwe where he graduated among the top of the class. After graduating he taught High School A Level Geography for several years. He later pursued a Master of Science in Natural Resource Management and Environmental Sustainability at Bindura University of Science Education, after which he joined lectureship at Zimbabwe Open University in the Geography Department. He is also an Environmental Impact Assessment consultant.
