Alana Kennedy
Dr. Alana Kennedy is an Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology in the College of Education at Northern Arizona University. Her research and expertise focus on designing effective learning experiences in formal and informal learning environments as well as examining self-regulated learning strategies, particularly those used by students of color. Most recently, Dr. Kennedy has been investigating the relationship between academic help-seeking and sense of belonging as well as investigating how academic help-seeking might be impacted by key features of the learning environment (e.g., student perceptions, stereotype activation, culturally responsive teaching). Dr. Kennedy earned her Ph.D. in Urban Education Policy with an emphasis on Educational Psychology and M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology from the University of Southern California.
