Jessica G. Maldonado Alvarez
Jessica Maldonado
was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She immigrated to the United States with her family when she was three years old. She was raised in East LA, where she graduated from Esteban Torres High school in 2013. She continued her education at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she received a Bachelors in Sociology and a minor in Education and Applied Psychology in 2018. At UCSB Ms. Maldonado became a member of IDEAS, an undocumented student support group that advocated to create more resources for undocumented students on campus. She was also hired at the UCSB Financial Aid Office where she discovered her passion for financial aid and the importance of not letting affordability become an issue for students when continuing their education. Jessica continues to educate students on financial aid and how to pay for college at UCLA as a Financial Aid Counselor.
